Hello World!

I made it to the blog!  This is an exciting start to our 2010-2011 school year.  I look forward to sharing information and stories with everyone in this new way!

Holy Cross Early Education Center has enrolled 83 kids this fall.  It has been a smooth start.  We have a great bunch of kids and a fabulous staff.  We are enjoying  the freshly painted walls in our big room, sink rooms, and Mrs. Matt/Mrs. Bridges’ room.  A big thanks  goes to our fantastic volunteers for painting this past summer–Stefanie Bridges, Phillip Miller, David Pham, Cesar and Patricia Argueta, Joe and Melissa Nielsen.  The children are enjoying the new tree and animal wall decals we put on the walls in the sink rooms as well.

Later this month on Sept. 29th, we will have our Meet and Greet/BBQ.  The Meet and Greet is basically an open house.  It is a chance for the EEC families to come in the building and find out what the kids are talking about!  You know how the children tell you stories when they come home and you are totally confused about what they mean?  This is your chance see for yourself.  The BBQ is a new event we are planning to hold with the Meet and Greet.  Several families have mentioned that they would like to have opportunities to meet other preschool families.  We are hoping that the BBQ will give everyone a chance to meet.  We will have a Scholastic Book Fair in the big room, the families can tour the school and visit with the teachers, and then have a bite to eat out in the school yard.  Hopefully, you will have a chance to meet new people. Mark your calendars!
